Vince, Jake, Nick, Jon, Sam, Tav, and Mike
A bit more ‘gardening’ – clearing brambles and nettles – while waiting for the team to arrive. Sam was first to show up followed, soon after by most of the others. A brief chat about this and that, then underground.
Earlier in the week I had been into the cave with Roz to carry out some chemically-induced ‘rock-bothering’ at both locations (CoW and the pot). There was a lot of rock and gravel debris to be cleared from the digs!
Tav and Jon headed off towards CoW, me and Sam started clearing a few rocks from the pot, then Nick joined us. Eventually, Mike turned up and he too descended into the pot where he was left to it. Nick returned to the surface to join Jake, me and Sam moved spoil along the ledge (from both dig locations) to the entrance from where it was hauled out to the surface. As expected, it was rather busy for a while as the easier loose spoil/bang debris was bagged up and larger lumps moved. As the morning progressed the flow rate of spoil decreased as it now required a bit more effort to retrieve the spoil. Just after midday the CoW diggers decided to pack it in and were soon followed out of the cave by the pot contingent. I took the opportunity to go along to CoW and see what the next steps will be needed there (no further IRS in the pot required at present). A plan in mind for mid-week I made my way to the surface to join the others.
Today’s total = 94 bags filled, hauled, and emptied plus many, many rocks added to the spoil heap wall.
Time for the Hunters’
