With Jake, Jon, Nick, Mike, and Harley
Time to see what the ‘bang’ had done!
Underground, it was obvious there had been recent rain the entrance was wet, water had flowed along the passage and down into the pot. Luckily, I avoided most of it (still wearing cotton overalls). Reeled in the wire as I made my way to CoW. The IRS had ‘powdered’ the rock – very few boulder-sized lumps, mostly gravel and dust to be bagged.
I was busy with hammer and chisel removing shattered flakes from the SW wall when Harley appeared followed by Mike. A brief chat, Harley stayed to help with digging, Mike went to the ledge to start hauling spoil away. I suspect Nick went down into the pot; Jon was moving stuff along to the entrance with Jake on the surface.
The morning moved on, the debris was cleared, enthusiasm started to wane, it doesn’t look especially inspiring. There is some more shattered rock to pry out but progress will be slow (it will need clearing before the next round of IRS, if we proceed in this direction). There are several alternatives to be considered. Packed it in for the day.
It had been raining! The surface crew (Jake and Jon) looked rather bedraggled. Probably time for the Hunters.’ The rain got heavier later.
